HOW TO: Host a back garden gathering

Welcome to another blog post from GOSS Outdoor! Whilst saying hello to Spring, and getting excited for the upcoming Summer, there is no doubt in saying that back garden gatherings are going to make an HUGE comeback. That’s why we are gathering some tips and some tricks, on how you can create the perfect outdoor gathering space for your guests this year! So keep on reading to find out the essentials you need to become a dream host:

1. YOUR SPACE

The most important aspect of hosting is the space that you will use, as we will be hosting in the back garden, it’s important that you have a clean, clear space that feels welcoming and inviting to your guest. Having a space that your guests can relax in such as a patio space, will be a great way to provide comfort for your guests - and there are so many ways that you can spruce your patio area up! It can be as small as some potted plants, or as big as a shading system (which we are currently selling online!), dressing up your patio no matter the size, shows effort and creates a great atmosphere for your guests.

2. Entertainment

Providing your guests with a source of entertainment is another must, installing a TV outside for you all to watch a movie or your favourite show is an amazing way to strike up conversations, and creating a classic summer evening wind down. Alternatively if your not looking for relaxation for your guests, you can get your gathering started with some of your favourite tunes along with some party games, and luckily for you some of our outdoor shading systems have the option for integrated speakers, so starting a party has never been easier.

3. LIGHTING CREATIVITY

Lighting sources a massive contribution to a gatherings atmosphere and there are so many ways you can use lighting. We have so many different stunning lighting options available on our online store, one of our most show stopping additions is the Dewdrop by Glowbus. This modern fire pit’s unique and eccentric design makes it the eye-catcher of your garden. Timeless as it is, it feels at home in a sleek minimalist garden - creating a beautiful warm glow. However, if you’re looking for something a tad simpler, patio lights and fair lights can aid in a festive feel around your garden.

4. PARTY FOOD

Sourcing delightful snacks for your guests is the perfect way to create a great outdoor gathering, however you don’t want to be missing out on socialising with your guests because you’re hiding away cooking. That’s why a great quick fix to filling up tummies whilst being social is barbecue food. A bit of grilled grub thats easy to cook and eat is the perfect solution to hungry guests, and with Hofats that task is made easy. What you were once using as a little fire pit can now be used to source some delicious snacks thanks to the versatility of their products!

5. THE BAR IS OPEN

As long as people have a refreshing drink in their hand, and good conversation flowing - life is good. That’s why when hosting a back garden gathering, setting up a self-serving bar is going to be your best friend. This essential party pit-stop is a great feature to supply your guests with, without having to worry about it too much yourself - all you have to do is make sure your supply is full and hey-presto.
